How many years have you worked in the industry?

4

What was your first job in construction and how did it shape your career path?

I’ve been a project engineer from the start, and every day is a learning experience. Coordinating teams, keeping schedules on track, and solving problems as they come up has shown me how much I enjoy being at the center of making a project run smoothly.

What is a misconception that you think people still have about women in construction?

A misconception I see is that women can’t handle the fast-paced, problem-solving side of construction. In reality, we’re making decisions, coordinating teams, and keeping projects moving every day.

What strengths do you think women bring to the construction industry?

Women in construction bring practical problem-solving, clear communication, and an eye for details that make a real difference on projects. As a project engineer, I rely on these skills every day to coordinate teams, catch issues before they become problems, and keep projects running smoothly.

What advice would you give other women that are considering or new to the construction industry?

Don’t be afraid to dive in and ask questions. The more you learn and get involved, the more you see how much you can make a project succeed.

What do you like to do when you're not on the job?

When I’m not on the job, I love couponing. I enjoy finding deals and saving money. It’s kind of like a little puzzle and challenge for me!
