What has influenced me most about starting Traffic Safety Solutions is seeing how safety, opportunity, and structure can change lives. Through our union partnership and second chance program, we are not just protecting job sites- we are building careers and restoring dignity.  

My first job in safety and construction was over 20 years ago. I knew then that I wanted to make a difference as a woman owned company. By starting Traffic Safety Solutions I was able to have access to more supplier diversity opportunities and it created both a challenge and a purpose, and that purpose is deeply 
motivated. 

One of the biggest misconceptions that still exists about women in construction is that we are the exception -not the standard. 

The biggest misconception about women in construction is that we don’t belong here. But we are not breaking into the industry anymore-we are building it. We are leading crews, running companies, negotiating contracts, and raising safety standards. 

My advice to women considering or new to the construction industry is to know - you belong here. Let your work speak for you. Learn the business, ask questions, understand safety and build your confidence through knowledge. Find people who respect the craft and are willing to mentor you. This industry runs on relationships and reputation-show up prepared, be consistent and keep your word. Most importantly don’t change who you are to fit in. Lead your own way. Construction doesn’t just need more women-it needs women who are confident,capable and authentic .
